The Obio/Akpor Committee Against Drug Abuse, Cultism and Other Social Vices on Friday stormed the palace of HRH Eze Wodu of Rumuigbo as part of its ongoing community sensitization campaign.
The delegation, led by Committee Chairman Hon. Ike Nwanwa, engaged the Council of Chiefs, the Youth Leadership and the CDC on the urgent need to curb drug abuse, cultism and related social vices in the area.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Nwanwa reaffirmed that combating these vices remains a major priority of the Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu–led administration, stressing that meaningful reduction in crime cannot be achieved without addressing the root causes enabled by drug abuse and cult activities.
In their separate remarks, the Chiefs and Youth President of Rumuigbo commended the Committee for the timely intervention and lauded the Chairman for giving the assignment due attention. They further pledged the community’s readiness to collaborate fully with the Committee in sustaining the fight against drug abuse and cultism.
