Dr. Worlu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management, University of Port Harcourt, where he continues to mentor future leaders and professionals.
Beyond academia, he is a Business Consultant and Entrepreneur, serving as the Managing Partner of Taylor and Drucker Associates and Chairman of Boldcrest Projects & Services Ltd. His professional practice blends scholarship with practical governance experience.

Public Service and Political Journey

Dr. Worlu’s public service record is marked by distinction, competence, and people-centered leadership. He has held several key positions, including:

· Commissioner for Housing, Rivers State (under the current administration).

· Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Obio/Akpor LGA (served twice in 2007 and 2015).

· Supervisory Councillor for Works and Transport, Obio/Akpor LGA.

Through these roles, he gained extensive insight into the workings of local governance and developed a reputation for transparency, inclusiveness, and results-oriented leadership.

In August 2025, Dr. Worlu secured the PDP Chairmanship ticket and later emerged victorious at the polls with over 328,000 votes — a resounding testament to the people’s trust and confidence in his leadership.

A Member of the Academy of Management Nigeria (MTAMN), Dr. Worlu is also a Public Affairs Analyst, Community Development Advocate, and Youth Development Enthusiast whose philosophy places service above self. Dr. Gift Worlu is deeply committed to strengthening community bonds and promoting a spirit of love and togetherness. He actively sponsors and supports sociocultural initiatives, and regularly engages in community service as a way of giving back. As a pioneer member and Secretary of the prestigious Choba Elites Foundation, he plays a key role in advancing the organisation’s mission of community development, human capital growth, and educational advancement. His life reflects a strong belief in service, empowerment, and collective progress.

He is happily married to Mrs. Flora Omenuihu Worlu, and their union is blessed with four wonderful children; a family that serves as his anchor and inspiration in public service.
