Hon. Dr. Gift O. Worlu is the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State. A dynamic and visionary leader with deep roots in grassroots governance, he assumed office on 2nd September 2025 following a decisive victory under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Dr. Worlu’s leadership embodies service, integrity, and accountability — values that continue to guide his mission of transforming Obio/Akpor into a model Local Government Area in Nigeria.

Born on 17th November 1972 into the illustrious family of Late Chief Samuel Worlu Orlumini of Ndudor, Choba, Dr. Worlu’s journey is one of discipline, determination, and excellence.
He began his education at CPS Choba, proceeded to Akpor Grammar School, Ozuoba, and later advanced to the University of Port Harcourt, where he obtained a B.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D. in Management — a rare academic distinction that reflects his intellectual depth and resilience.

Dr. Worlu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management, University of Port Harcourt, where he continues to mentor future leaders and professionals.
Beyond academia, he is a Business Consultant and Entrepreneur, serving as the Managing Partner of Taylor and Drucker Associates and Chairman of Boldcrest Projects & Services Ltd. His professional practice blends scholarship with practical governance experience.
