At its 14th Plenary Session held on Tuesday, 14th April 2026, the Obio/Akpor 10th Legislative Council, presided over by the Leader of the House, RT. Hon. Rex-Millia Abuchi Amadi, passed the 2026 Appropriation Bill tagged “Budget of Unity, Growth and Inclusive Prosperity” into law.
The Appropriation Bill, earlier presented by the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Dr. Gift Worlu, on 12th February 2026, underwent its second reading before the Hallowed Chambers and was subjected to committee scrutiny.
Upon resumption, the House Committee Chairman on Finance and Budget, Hon. Victoria Oroma Chinda, presented the committee’s report, after which the House unanimously passed the bill following its third reading.
Earlier in the session, the Leader admonished legislators to work in unity and cultivate the spirit of brotherhood. He thanked the Executive Chairman for sponsoring legislators to the party’s National Convention held in Abuja, expressed gratitude to God for journey mercies, and commended legislators for their good conduct at the Convention.
The Clerk, Mrs. Sandra Aaron Igwe Esq., read the votes and proceedings, which were adopted on a motion moved by the Chief Whip, Hon. Amb. Joy Odomene, Councillor Ward 16, and seconded by Hon. Chukwu Precious Chijioke, Councillor Ward 10
A motion to “Ban, Seal and Close Down Odest Global Resources Located at Eneka/Igwuruta Airport Road” was moved by Hon. Michael Uche Azuonwu and co-sponsored by Hon. Chukwuemeka Edison Amadi, Councillor Ward 3.
Hon. Gladys Akani, Councillor Ward 15, sensitized members on the importance of enrolling on the ongoing Health Insurance Scheme.
The Chief Whip and Hon. Victoria Oroma Chinda addressed behavioral patterns and punctuality in the Hallowed Chambers.
The Deputy Leader, Hon. Chinda Nyekwere, moved a motion for adjournment, seconded by Hon. Owhonda Stanley Ogbugo, Councillor Ward 2.
