OBALGA COUNCIL BOSS HAILS FUBARA’S INTERVENTION AT CAPTAIN ELECHI AMADI POLYTECHNIC

•••Says Projects Will Transform Graduates From Job Seekers To Job Creators

The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Gift Worlu, has commended the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for his administration’s intervention at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, describing the newly commissioned projects as a timely investment in human capital development and the future of young people in Rivers State.
Dr. Worlu stated this on Wednesday during the commissioning of three major projects at the state-owned Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The projects commissioned include the Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Centre, the School of Engineering Building, and the Governing Council Building.
Speaking at the event, the Obio/Akpor Chairman warmly welcomed Governor Fubara and his entourage to the local government, expressing delight over the impact of the projects on the Polytechnic and its students.
According to Dr. Gift Worlu, the projects came at a critical period when unemployment remains a major challenge facing young Nigerians.
He noted that the establishment of the Enterpreneurship and Skill Development Centre would reposition the institution to focus more on practical skills and entrepreneurship, rather than producing graduates who depend solely on government and other organisations for employment.
Dr. Gift Worlu said the intervention would ensure that the Polytechnic begins to “produce job creators and not job seekers,” stressing that the construction of the School of Engineering Building also demonstrates the governor’s belief in practical education and technical knowledge.
He further commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his peaceful disposition and credited the governor’s commitment to peace as an important factor in the continued development of Rivers State.
Speaking at the commissioning, Governor Siminalayi Fubara stressed the importance of polytechnic education and vocational training in tackling unemployment and developing skilled manpower capable of driving economic growth.
The Governor , who noted that his background as a former teacher had given him an appreciation of the importance of a properly planned education system, said polytechnic education remains critical to equipping young Nigerians with practical skills
Governor Fubara stressed that Rivers State requires skilled manpower capable of contributing to economic development, rather than an overwhelming number of administrative officers
The Governor equally appealed to Rivers people to continue to maintain peace, describing peace as a catalyst for development and progress in the state.
Earlier, the Rector of Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Dr. Moses Neebee, disclosed that the commissioning marked the first time in nearly 20 years that major projects were being inaugurated at the institution.
